Wakefield Wrestling Places Seventh During Madison Invite

MADISON – Following a top five finish as a team during their conference meet, the Wakefield Trojan wrestling program was back on the road Friday night for an invitational.

From Madison Public Schools, Wakefield joined 11 other programs during the Madison Invite.

Results.

Columbus Lakeview won the Madison Invite with 216 points, followed by Logan View in second with 203.5 points, Boone Central took third with 189 points, Crofton placed fourth with 168 points and Twin River rounded out the top five teams with 131.5 points.

Other team results came from West Point-Beemer (sixth – 109), Wakefield (seventh – 59), Howells-Dodge (eighth – 58), Wisner-Pilger (ninth – 42), Madison (10th – 40.5), Stanton (11th – 38) and Pleasanton (12th – 36).

Wakefield was led by Samuel Chase (106) and Mitchell Fischer (170) both placing fourth while Jeremiah Chase (138) took fifth. Caleb Chase (126), Bradley Haglund (182) and Christopher Ochoa (195) all finished sixth.

The Wakefield wrestling program will next visit Hartington Cedar Catholic on Tuesday, January 26 for a road triangular with Winnebago starting at 6 p.m.
