WALTHILL – A series of three road triangular matches will take over the Wakefield volleyball schedule over the next week.
From Walthill, Class C2 Wakefield competed against Class D1 Walthill and Class D2 Randolph on Tuesday during the Walthill Triangular.
Wakefield suffered a three-set loss to Randolph (18-25, 25-16, 24-26) and swept Walthill (25-11, 25-16).
The Trojans are now 10-8 on the season.
In the third match, Randolph defeated Walthill in straight sets (25-8, 25-7). The Cardinals are now 8-6 on the season while Walthill fell to 2-14.
During the loss to Randolph, Daveigh Munter-McAfee recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs; Alex Arenas added seven kills and 11 digs as Alli Brown tallied six kills and six digs.
Jordan Metzler finished with 25 assists, four digs and a kill as Isabella Andrade provided 11 digs.
Laken Rahn had four kills and a solo block while Brianna Martinez tacked on three kills and a dig.
Metzler posted two service aces as Brown and Andrade both had an ace.
In the victory over Walthill, Rahn tallied a team-high five kills as Arenas (four digs) and Brown (five digs) both finished with three kills.
Metzler recorded 15 assists, a dig and a kill.
Munter-McAfee (four digs) and Martinez (dig) both added two kills while Ashlyn Riewer finished with two digs.
Brown posted three service aces, Metzler had two aces as Ashlyn Riewer, Arenas and Munter-McAfee all tacked on an ace.
The Wakefield volleyball team will next compete in the Wynot Triangular with Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Thursday, September 22 before taking part in the Wausa Triangular with Hartington-Newcastle on Tuesday, September 27.
