Wakefield Volleyball Secures Home Sweep

WAKEFIELD – After dropping a road four set match earlier this week, the Wakefield volleyball program returned with a home weekday outing.

From the main gym at Wakefield Community Schools, the Trojans welcomed in a fellow Class C2 program being the Pender Pendragon on Thursday.

Wakefield picked up the 3-0 sweep of 25-21, 25-17, 25-18 to improve to 9-7. Pender fell to 4-6.

Alex Arenas posted a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, Daveigh-Munter McAfee recorded six digs to go along with seven kills as Alli Brown added seven kills and three digs. Jordan Metzler finished with 22 assists and three digs. Isabella Andrade led the team in digs with 11.

Brianna Martinez tallied three kills.

Laken Rahn, Arenas, Munter-McAfee and Metzler all had two service aces as Brown added an ace. Blocks also came from Brown, Martinez, Arenas and Rahn.

The Wakefield volleyball team will next compete in three straight road triangular matches starting on Tuesday, September 20 at Walthill with Randolph.
