PIERCE – Wakefield Post 81 Legion baseball was in action Tuesday evening on the road as they prepare for a home outing later this week.
Post 81 visited Pierce Post 72 as the Juniors lost 18-2 while the Seniors fell 7-1. Both teams are now 1-2 on the season.
In the Juniors game, Pierce opened up the scoring column with an eight-run first inning. Post 72 scored their runs off three walks, two hit by pitch and two hits.
Blake Brown paced Wakefield at the plate going 2-for-2 with a run scored. Sam Nuno went 1-for-3 while Jakoby Mahon added a 1-for-2 performance.
Gabe Lamprecht started the game for Wakefield while Kaden Ktratke and Jesse Lundahl provided relief pitching.
During the Seniors contest, both teams scored a run in the first while Pierce poured in three more runs in the second to lead 4-1. Post 72 added two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to win 7-1.
Wakefield Post 81 Senior leaders were Mahon who doubled and went 2-for-3 while Justin Erb singled going 2-for-3. Blake Brown went 1-for-3.
TJ Solomon and Brock Floyd both saw time on the hill for Post 81.
The Wakefield Post 81 Juniors and Seniors will next host Crofton on Thursday, July 2 at 5/7 p.m.
