PENDER – Post 81 American Legion baseball teams were back in action Thursday evening on the road.
Wakefield visited Pender Post 55 as the Juniors lost 17-4 to now sit 3-3 while the Post 81 Seniors suffered an 8-5 loss dropping to 1-5.
Blake Brown paced the Wakefield Juniors going 1-for-2 with a double. Jakoby Mahon singled and drove in a run while Couy Johnson added a single. Post 81 players of Kaden Kratke, Ryan Anderson and Cade Johnson all started the second inning with three straight hits going 1-for-2.
Sam Nuno suffered the loss allowing seven runs in the opening inning. Brown came in for three innings as Jesse Lundahl worked the final inning and two-thirds.
From the Seniors game, Brown posted a 3-for-3 performance and scored twice while Justin Erb went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a triple. Lukas Oswald went 1-for-2 and Couy Johnson tacked on a double.
Mahon started the game while Brock Floyd closed out the final two innings.
The Wakefield Post 81 Jrs and Srs will next host Pierce on Tuesday, July 14.
