Wakefield Jrs Top Crofton, Post 81 Srs Drop Thursday Night Home Outing

WAKEFIELD – Post 81 American Legion baseball teams entertained Crofton Thursday as Wakefield will be off for the next four days.

From Eaton Field in Wakefield, the Post 81 Jrs won 8-4 while the Srs fell 9-3. The Wakefield Jrs improved to 2-2 while the Post 81 Srs fell to 1-3.

During the Juniors outing, the game was tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth before Wakefield tallied four runs to win 8-4.

Jakoby Mahon doubled and drove in two runs for Wakefield. Other Jrs leaders were Blake Brown who went 1-for-2; Sam Nuno was 2-for-3; Gabe Lamprecht went 1-for-3; Kaden Ktratke doubled going 1-for-2 and Cade Johnson was 1-for-2.

Sam Nuno worked an inning and a third, Jake Lundahl pitched three innings and Nate Oswald came in for the final two innings.

 

In the Seniors game, Crofton won 9-3.

Blake Brown recorded three hits to pace the Post 81 Srs while Mahon added two hits.

Brock Floyd suffered the loss allowing six runs before being replaced by Mahon in the sixth who closed out the final two innings.

The Wakefield Post 81 Juniors and Seniors will be off until Tuesday, July 7 when they travel to Ponca.
