Wakefield-Allen Wrestlers Finish 10th During Wisner-Pilger Invite

WISNER – Members with the Wakefield-Allen wrestling team participated in the Wisner-Pilger Invite this weekend.

From Wisner-Pilger high school, the Gators hosted the Saturday Invite featuring 16 other teams.

Omaha Bryan pulled away from the field with 263 points, Ralston took runner-up with 190 points, Howells-Dodge placed third with 110 points, Summerland finished fourth with 104 points and Lincoln Southeast rounded out the top five teams (98.5). East Butler (sixth – 94), Creighton (seventh – 78), Wisner-Pilger (eighth – 60.5) and Omaha South (ninth – 43).

For Wakefield-Allen, the team placed 10th with 39 points.

Creighton Prep JV (11th – 25), BRLD, Clarkson-Leigh and Elkhorn South JV (T-12th – 21), Cedar Bluffs (15th – 15), Lutheran High Northeast (16th – 12.5) and Scribner-Snyder (17th – 12).

The top Trojan wrestler was Wyatt Verzani (145) placing third.

The Wakefield-Allen wrestling team will next host their own triangular on Thursday, January 16 at 6 p.m. Madison and Ponca will join the Trojans.
