Wakefield-Allen Volleyball Tallies Seventh Consecutive Set Victory

ALLEN – The Wakefield-Allen volleyball team competed in their first home triangular of the season where Tuesday night’s matches were held in Allen.

A pair of Class D1 schools from Randolph and Walthill were in town.

Wakefield-Allen started off strong and finished with a pair of home sweeps. The Trojans defeated Walthill (25-10, 25-16) and swept Randolph (25-22, 25-19) to improve to 6-9 on the season and winners of three straight matches, seven consecutive sets.

In the sweep over Walthill, Devaney Brown recorded nine kills, followed by Courtney Bokemper with five kills and seven digs as well as four kills from Haley Stapleton. Cassidy Thomas posted a team-high 13 set assists as Breanna Chase added six assists. Jamie Dolph paced the Trojans with eight digs.

From the victory over Randolph, Brown again led Wakefield-Allen with seven kills as Summer Jackson and Bokemper both added five kills. Chase paced the team in set assists with nine as Dolph tallied nine digs.

In the middle match, Randolph defeated Walthill (25-7, 25-12) to improve to 6-7 as Walthill falls to 2-6.

Wakefield-Allen will host another triangular with Wausa and Hartington-Newcastle in town on Tuesday, September 25. The matches will be held in Wakefield.
