Wakefield-Allen Sweeps Winnebago, Advances To Subdistrict Final

WISNER – After earning the top seed in the Class C1-3 Subdistrict, #1 Wakefield-Allen began their postseason run.

From Wisner-Pilger high school, the Trojans began Monday night by matching up with #4 Winnebago.

After winning in two sets during a road triangular over Winnebago on October 24, Wakefield-Allen swept the Indians Monday night (25-11, 25-15, 25-21) to improve to 19-12.

Jordyn Carr recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs, followed by Alex Arenas with 10 kills and nine digs as well as Alli Jackson adding eight kills. Hayden Ekberg tallied seven kills and two blocks (one solo); Aishah Valenzuela paced the team in digs with 13 while Carly Dickens finished with 38 assists and one kill. Chelly Dominguez posted four of the eight service aces for Wakefield-Allen.

On the other half of the bracket, #2 Logan View/Scribner-Snyder won in five sets over #3 West Point-Beemer (25-18, 25-15, 20-25, 18-25, 16-14).

Wakefield-Allen will next face LV/SS at 7 p.m. during the Subdistrict championship match.
