Wakefield-Allen Completes Regular Season With Two Road Victories

WAKEFIELD – The same day Wakefield-Allen officially earned the number seed in their subdistrict tourney, the Trojans closed out the regular season with a pair of wins.

From Winnebago high school, Wakefield-Allen took on the host Indians and Homer.

The Trojans swept the Knights (25-12, 27-25) before winning over Winnebago (25-17, 25-19). Wakefield-Allen is now 18-12 on the season.

In the win over Homer, Alex Arenas recorded a team-high eight kills and 10 digs followed by Jordyn Carr with six kills and a team-high 13 digs. Hayden Ekberg added four kills; Aishah Valenzuela tallied 12 digs as Carly Dickens finished with 20 set assists, seven digs and five service aces.

From the win over Winnebago, Carr posted a team-high eight kills and 14 digs this time followed by Arenas with six kills and 11 digs. Valenzuela was the team leader in digs with 19; Dickens tacked on 19 set assists and Chelly Dominguez recorded four service aces.

Wakefield-Allen earned the #1 seed in the C1-3 Subdistrict hosted by Wisner-Pilger and will take on #4 Winnebago at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
