WEST HOLT – Less than 24 hours after the Wakefield wrestlers competed in a road triangular on Thursday, the Trojans were back on the mat Friday afternoon.
From West Holt Public Schools in Atkinson, Wakefield joined 12 other teams during the West Holt Invite.
Wakefield finished 11th as a team with 18 points.
O’Neill won the invite with 201 points, Burke/Gregory followed in second with 189 points, Summerland took third with 120 points, Plainview came in fourth with 108 points as Neligh-Oakdale rounded out the top five teams (98).
Wakefield top performances came from Franco Tapia (126) and Bradley Haglund (195) both finished fourth while Samuel Chase (113) and Caleb Chase (132) both earned points for the Trojans.
Other wrestlers who were in action included Calix Barge (106), Kolton Fischer (145), Ronnie Ramirez (152) and Diego Rubelcaba (170).
The Wakefield Trojan wrestling program will next compete in the Creighton Invite on Thursday, January 20 starting at 1 p.m.
