Trojan Wrestlers Finish Fourth During Osmond Invite

OSMOND – A handful of northeast Nebraska wrestling programs were featured during the Osmond Invite Saturday.

From Osmond Community Schools, 14 teams were highlighted among the weekend invitational.

Pierce edged West Point-Beemer 247 – 216.5 to win the invite, West Holt finished third with 146 points, Wakefield placed fourth with 126 points and North Central rounded out the top five teams with 125 points.

Norfolk Reserves (sixth – 122), Battle Creek (seventh – 89), Ponca (eighth – 87), Madison (ninth – 67), St. Mary’s (10th – 60), Lutheran High Northeast (11th – 56), Creighton (12th – 39), Osmond (13th – 28) and Niobrara-Verdigre (14th – 27).

The Wakefield wrestlers saw Caleb Chase (132) and Gabriel Lamprecht (145) both place runner-up while Jeremiah Chase (152) and Giovani Salcedo (220) both finished third. Mitchell Fischer (170) and Rylan Weaver (285) both placed fourth, Samuel Chase (106) took fifth, Robbie Ramirez (152 – seventh), Franco Tapia (138 – 10th).

Pierce was led by Isaiah Adams (120), Brock Bolling (126), Blake Bolling (138), Ashton Schweitzer (160), Michael Kruntorad (170) and Zander Schweitzer (182) who all won their weight class. Zakary Abler (113) and Colton Fritz (195) both took third, Aiden Gnat (152) and Nick Erickson (220) both placed fourth, Ethan Dohmen (132) finished seventh and Travis Jensen (285) came in ninth.

Ponca was led by Matt Logue (195) who won his weight class while Aiden Cook (160) took runner-up and Dalton Anderson (126) placed third. Sam Taylor (138) finished fifth, Grant Sprakel (106) and Miguel Balvantin (220) both came in sixth as Evan Hamilton (285) took 11th.

 

The Wakefield wrestlers will next be in action on Friday, January 8 competing at Wilber-Clatonia at 3:30 p.m. along with four other teams.
