NORFOLK – Members with the Northeast Community College Student-Athlete Council will be hosting a Toys for Tots drive this week.
According to a release from Northeast Community College, the event will last from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 19 in the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The group is asking anyone who is interested in donating a toy to drop-off their donations inside the Cox Activities Center. There will be donation boxes available and NECC Student-Athlete council members will be on hand to assist.
Toys for Tots is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children. The program was founded in 1947 by Bill Hendricks and his wife Diane.
Masks are required to enter the building while dropping off donations. For questions about donations, contact Jerrett Mills at 402-844-7271.
Earlier this fall, Northeast Community College announced their sports schedules for women’s and men’s basketball, women’s and men’s soccer as well as women’s volleyball.
