Top Two Seeds Fall During East Husker Conference Volleyball Tourney Play

EAST HUSKER – The top four seeds were the featured sites during Thursday night competition of the opening games for the East Husker Conference (EHC) Volleyball Tourney leading into weekend matches.

In the Clarkson-Leigh bracket, #8 Pender won in three sets over #9 Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (17-25, 25-23, 26-24) before the Pendragons knocked out the top seed Clarkson/Leigh in straight sets (25-23, 25-20).

From the West Point bracket, #12 Madison topped #13 Twin River (25-15, 25-19); before #5 BRLD got past Madison and then #4 West Point-Beemer swept BRLD (25-21, 25-22).

During the Oakland-Craig bracket, #7 North Bend Central swept #10 Tekamah-Herman (25-19, 25-23) before NBC knocked off #2 Oakland-Craig in three sets (23-25, 27-25, 26-24).

In the Howells-Dodge bracket, #6 Wisner-Pilger swept #11 Stanton (25-23, 25-14) while #3 Howells-Dodge won in three sets over the Gators (25-19, 20-25, 25-18).

#3 Howells-Dodge will face #7 North Bend while #4 West Point-Beemer vs. #8 Pender in the semifinal round while the remaining teams who did not advance will be placed in  three pool play brackets based on seeding for a Saturday triangular.
