Top Two Seeds Advance In D2-2 Subdistrict

HARTINGTON –The Winside Wildcat volleyball team opened postseason play early in the week during the D2-2 Subdistrict.

From Hartington Cedar Catholic high school, #2 Winside took on #3 Randolph.

The Wildcats swept the Cardinals (25-12, 25-20, 25-14) to improve to 22-6 on the season.

Winside was led by a balanced attack from Brooklyn Behmer with eight kills, 13 set assists, two solo blocks, five service aces and seven digs. Andi Bargstadt followed with seven kills and eight digs while McKenna Russell tallied 17 set assists, six digs and three service aces. Hope Cummins added six kills, three solo blocks, three aces and three digs; Kati Top had five kills, seven solo blocks, four aces and three digs as Jackie Escalante paced the team in digs with 14.

#1 Wynot swept #4 Emerson-Hubbard Monday night (25-9, 25-6, 25-5).

Wynot and Winside will meet Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for the subdistrict title match. Wynot swept Winside on September 10 in Winside.
