Thursday’s weather forced the early completion of the Northeast Nebraska Track Classic.
After getting half the field events completed and the girls 4×800-meter relay in, the meet was delayed because of lightning in the area. As the weather continued to back build and meet directors were told lightning would continue to delay the meet for another couple hours minimum the decision was made to cancel the remaining events.
Members of the Wayne High track & field team were able to compete in two events. Brooklyn Kruse finished fourth in the shot while the Blue Devil 4×800-meter relay of Faith Powicki, Kierah Haase, Kiara Krusemark and Kyla Krusemark placed sixth.
Decisions on the weather for Saturday may influence whether the meet is then or moved to Monday’s weather date.
