Thursday Night High School Basketball Covered On Radio

HARTINGTON – Northeast Nebraska girls and boys basketball teams are set to resume their season opening Thursday, January 3.

A game that can be heard on Big Red Country “KTCH” 104.9 and online at waynedailynews.com will feature Laurel-Concord-Coleridge playing at Hartington Cedar Catholic. Another game which will be aired on The City “KCTY” 98.9/1590 and online at waynedailynews.com will be a boys only game between Wayne High hosting Norfolk Catholic Thursday night.

The HCC vs. LCC games will open at 4:30 p.m. during JV competition while varsity games will follow at 6:15 for the girls and boys to close out the night afterwards.

Both HCC and LCC recently played two games during the 2018 Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout.

HCC placed runner-up in the girls blue division with a loss to West Point-Beemer (57-44) on Monday to now sit 3-3 while Cedar also defeated Pender on Saturday (62-48).

The Trojan boys finished third to improve to 5-2 in the blue division by defeating Pender, 82-39 as they suffered a 67-55 loss to Wayne prior.

For LCC, their boys team is now 9-1 after winning the blue division over Wayne High (67-62) while also defeating Pender (102-64).

In the girls white division, the Bears placed third after falling to Norfolk Catholic (51-40) but beat Wayne 55-52 earlier in the tourney and are currently 5-5.

During the Mid State Conference contest between Wayne High and Norfolk Catholic the boys only varsity game will tip at 7:30 p.m. or following the JV game which is slated for 6 p.m.

Wayne High is 6-4 after splitting a pair of games in their holiday tourney. The Blue Devils defeated Hartington Cedar Catholic 67-55 before dropping a 67-62 game with Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

The Knights also split games during the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout to sit 4-5. Norfolk Catholic defeated Arlington (55-39) Saturday and lost to West Point-Beemer (58-38) Monday.
