Third Overtime Match Results In Second Draw For Wildcat Women’s Soccer

ST. JOSEPH, MO – A Friday night NCAA Division II women’s soccer match took place on the road for the Wayne State College Wildcats.

From Spratt Stadium in St. Joseph, Missouri, WSC visited Missouri Western.

Missouri Western won the first half shot total 5-4 as both teams put two of their shots on goal before Missouri Western poured in 15 second half shots (only two on goal). Still scoreless after regulation, WSC saw their third match of the season go into extras where neither team could net a goal. With the draw, Wayne State is now 0-1-2 while Missouri Western sits 0-2-1.

Individually, Abby Sutton placed both her shots on goal while Megan Philips added a shot on goal. Other shot attempts came from Madison Kemp (two), Chloe Schlines (one) and Tori Solley (one).

Rachel Grisham worked 110 minutes in goal posting five saves.

Missouri Western won the shot attempt battled 22-7 (5-3 on goal); both teams recorded three corner kicks while WSC was called for two more fouls (7-5).

The Wayne State College women’s soccer team will next open their league schedule at Sioux Falls on Friday, September 20 and at Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday, September 22.
