Taylor Named NSIC Women’s Golfer Of The Week

WAYNE – After setting a new single round school record with a on-over-par 73 in round one of the Nebraska Intercollegiate Invite last weekend, sophomore Jazmine Taylor was tabbed as the NSIC Women’s Golfer of the Week.

According to a release from the Wayne State Athletics office, the Millard North High School grad was a medalist at the Norfolk Country Club and finished the 36-hole tournament with a 150 to win the meet by seven strokes.

She followed her opening round with a 77 on day two and eclipsed the previous school record of 76 held by Abbey Kurmel set September 26 in Marshall, Minnesota.

Through eight rounds this season, Taylor leads the Wildcat women’s golf team with an average score of 79.875.

The Wayne State women’s golf team will conclude the fall portion of their 2021-22 schedule at the Midwest Classic in Warrensburg, Missouri on Monday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 19.
