Sunday Afternoon NSIC Basketball To Take Over Rice

WAYNE – For the second time in the month of December, travel partners will look to gain ground in the NSIC during a South Division showdown between Wayne State College and August

Both teams will close out the 2018 portion of their schedule on Sunday, December 30 at Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College. Games times are set for 1:30/3:30 p.m.

In the women’s match, Wayne State College is 8-3 overall (3-2 NSIC) as Augustana is 13-1 (5-0 NSIC).

Augie is also tied for 23rd as of December 17 in the WBCA Coaches Poll while sitting 12th in the D2SIDA poll through games being played on December 11.

In the first meeting on December 1 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Augie defeated the’ Cats 81-73.

WSC was last in action on December 19 defeating Midland University (64-53) as Augie also played on December 19 winning against Peru State (94-60).

In the men’s contest, WSC has won nine straight to enter the weekend at 10-1 (5-0 NSIC) while the Augie men sit 8-3 (4-1 NSIC) and on a five-game winning streak.

Wayne State defeated Augustana 65-54 in Sioux Falls on December 1. It marked the first win in eight years at Augie.

The Wildcat men have been off since last defeating Minnesota Crookston (72-52) on December 16 while the Vikings last beat Hastings College on December 19 (93-86).
