Summer ID Soccer Camp For High School Students Taking Place August 11

WAYNE – Just two months after a spring camp was held, individuals can now sign up for the Wayne State College Soccer Summer ID Camp scheduled for next weekend.

The 2018 Summer ID Soccer Camp is scheduled for Saturday, August 11 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for goalkeepers and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for field players. The camp is open to those in high school, age 14 – 18.

Cost is $60 as lunch and a t-shirt will be provided to participants. Deadline to attend is Friday, August 10 by 11 a.m. by visiting wscwildcats.com and clicking on the ‘Camps’ tab or call WSC head women’s soccer coach Joe Cleary at 402-375-7733 for more information.

Campers will receive instruction from the WSC coaching staff on all facets of the game. There’ll also be interaction with current and future WSC soccer players, goalkeeper specific training and for females looking to be recruited to play soccer, 70% of the current women’s roster has attended a WSC ID Camp in the past.

All this takes place on great natural grass and turf from the Wayne State College Soccer Field.

The 2018 season for WSC will get underway with three exhibition games. Wayne State will visit Concordia – Seward on Saturday, August 18 at 2 p.m.; host Briar Cliff on Sunday, August 19 at 4 p.m. and visit South Dakota State University on Friday, August 24 at 6 p.m. The ‘Cats will begin their regular season in Lakewood, Colorado with Montana State (Billing) on Saturday, September 1 and Colorado Christian on Monday, September 3. Both matches are slated for 11 a.m.
