Subdistrict Volleyball Pairings Posted

WAYNE – High School volleyball teams across the state will open postseason competition early next week during subdistrict tournament play.

According to a release from the NSAA late Thursday afternoon, Wayne High earned the top seed and will host the Class C1-6 Subdistrict. Subs will be played on Monday and Tuesday, October 26-27 at the higher seed of the subdistrict with district competition being played on Saturday, October 31 after teams are re-seeded 1-16.

C1-6 Wayne

#4 Homer will open Monday at 4:30 p.m. against #5 Winnebago with the winner to face #1 Wayne at 7:30 p.m. The other half of the bracket will feature #2 Battle Creek vs. #3 Pierce at 6 p.m.

 

Other area subdistrict tournaments:

C2-3 (C2-3 Howells): #1 Howells-Dodge vs. #4 Tekamah-Herman at 6 p.m. on Monday followed by #2 GACC vs. #3 Wisner-Pilger.

C2-4 (C2-4 BR): #1 BRLD vs. #4 Omaha Nation at 6 p.m. on Monday followed by #2 Pender vs. #3 Wakefield.

C2-5 (C2-5 Ponca): #4 North Central vs. #5 Creighton at 5 p.m. on Monday with the winner to face #1 Ponca at 7 p.m. The other half of the bracket will feature #2 LCC vs. #3 Crofton at 6:15 p.m.

D1-3 (D1-3 Humphrey): #4 Osmond vs. #5 Plainview at 5 p.m. on Monday with the winner to face #1 Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at 7:30 p.m. The other half of the bracket will feature #2 Wausa vs. #3 Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) at 6:15 p.m.

D1-4 (D1-4 Hartington): #4 Bloomfield vs. #5 Niobrara/Verdigre at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with the winner to face #1 Hartington Cedar Catholic at 7:30 p.m. The other half of the bracket will feature #2 Boyd County vs. #3 Hartington-Newcastle at 6 p.m.

D2-5 (D2-5 Wynot): #4 Walthill vs. #5 Santee at 5 p.m. on Monday with the winner to face #1 Wynot at 8 p.m. The other half of the bracket will feature #2 Randolph vs. #3 Winside at 6:30 p.m.
