South Sioux Holds Off Beatrice to Make Title Game

LINCOLN — The South Sioux City Cardinals used an 18-7 first half-run to beat the Beatrice Lady Orange 55-50 at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Friday afternoon.

McKenna Sims hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the first quarter to start the run.  Beatrice’s Michaela Jones scored 15 of her 22 points in the second half to cut the Cardinals’ lead to just two points but it wasn’t enough.  Tiffany Tinker made the final shot of the game to send the Cardinals to the title game.

South Sioux City will play Elkhorn at 1:00 PM on Saturday to try to repeat as state champs.
