Northeast Community College Student-Athletes Recognized With Academic All-Region Honors

NORFOLK – Several northeast Nebraska student-athletes were recently recognized for being named to an Academic All-Region team.

According to a release from Northeast Community College, the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference announced the Academic All-Region performers for the spring of 2020 semester.

First Team performers received a 3.5 grade-point average or above while Second Team members earned between a 3.0 and a 3.49 grade-point average.

Norfolk natives Dylan Rogers and Wil Fisher both earned second team honors for baseball; Ben Moxness of Scribner was named first team for men’s basketball while teammates Dennis Herrea (O’Neill), Merrix Denn (Osmond) and Zach James (Norfolk) were tabbed second team.

Ty Heimes of Battle Creek also earned second team for men’s golf.

Lorna Maxon of Laurel was named first team for women’s basketball as softball recipients went to Vada Kruse (Norfolk) for first team and well as Brianna Aguilera (Pierce) and Maggie Berryman (Norfolk) being tabbed second team.
