Six Pins Make Way For Winside Wrestlers In Road Dual Victory, Home Invite Saturday

WEST POINT – Ahead of the Winside Tournament this weekend, the Wildcat wrestlers took to the road for a Thursday night dual.

From West Point, Winside visited Guardian Angels Central Catholic.

Final favored Winside over the host GACC, 42-33 thanks to six pins.

Winside wins came from Cooper Behmer (120) over Ben Oligmueller by fall (5:22); Jacoby Mann (126) over Noah Brichacek by fall (2:34); Cayden Ellis (132) over Dylan Shinstock by fall (2:00); Maddox Magwire (145) over Dominic Johnson by fall (3:05); Art Escalante (152) over Gavin Kreikemeier by fall (1:19) and Gabe Escalante (170) over Luke Hagedorn by fall (0:52).

Korbin Carlson (113) also won by forfeit.

GACC wins saw Jordan Timmerman (138) defeat Mace Magwire by decision (9-7) and Ethan Baumert (160) won by fall over Tyler Carlson (2:59).

Most of the Bluejay points came from wins by forfeit by Cale Schwer (182); James Rolf (195); Dax Doernemann (220) and George Fraher (285).

Both teams double forfeit 106.

The Winside Wrestling Invite will take place on Saturday, January 8 starting at 9 a.m.
