CREIGHTON – A complete set of games were played Monday afternoon into the evening for day two of the 2022 Class C Junior American Legion Baseball State Tournament.
From Greg Paesl Field in Creighton, two teams were eliminated.
In the first elimination contest, PWG defeated Tri-County, 6-4 while Wakefield Post 81 knocked out the host Creighton-Plainview, 11-2 in five innings.
From the winner’s bracket, Imperial won 9-5 over Pender while Malcolm topped DCB, 10-2.
Tuesday’s elimination round will start at 2 p.m. with a northeast Nebraska showdown between Pender and Wakefield followed by PWG vs. DCB at 5 p.m.
During the regular season of the Ralph Bishop League on May 27, Pender won 4-3 over Wakefield.
Tonight’s winner’s bracket game is scheduled for 8 p.m. between Imperial and Malcolm.

Again, the 2022 Class C Junior American Legion Baseball State Tournament was pushed back one day due to weekend weather and will have their championship game on Thursday, July 21.
