Post 43 Seniors Hold Off Lincoln Southwest In One-Run Decision

WAYNE – Following a Friday evening senior-night victory, the Wayne Post 43 Senior American Legion baseball team went back to work on the home diamond with a Lincoln opponent.

From Hank Overin Field, Wayne welcomed in Lincoln Southwest reserves Sunday afternoon.

Post 43 used a 3-2 decision over LSW to remain undefeated at 10-0.

Offensively, Hagan Miller singled twice, drove in a run and scored while Reid Korth also singled twice and drove in two runs. Jacob Kneifl doubled and scored, Blake Bartos singled and scored as Trevor DeBoer singled.

Kneifl picked up the win in four and two-thirds allowing three hits while striking out six batters and walking two. DeBoer came in for the save going four and a third innings of hitless ball striking out another six batters.

The Wayne Post 43 Seniors will next join their Juniors for a make-up game on Monday, July 13 at 5:30/8 p.m. hosting Ponca.
