Post 43 Seniors Fall In North Division Final, Compete In League Consolation Game Today

WAYNE – Championship Saturday for 2021 Ralph Bishop League Legion Baseball games are now set following the Divisional Championship round.

From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, #1 Post 43 hosted #3 Pierce and lost the lead early falling, 8-4 on Friday. Wayne Post 43 is now 11-4 on the season.

After scoring four runs in the home half of the first, Pierce recorded three runs in the second, one in the third and four more in the fourth to win 8-4.

Reid Korth doubled and drove in a run while Blake Bartos singled, drove in two runs and scored. Toby Braun singled as single runs came from Jacob Kneifl, Calvin Starzl and Devin Anderson.

James Dorcey (58 pitches) suffered the loss in three and a third innings allowing eight runs off four hits while striking out two batters. Bartos (33 pitches) worked two innings allowing one hit. Korth (21 pitches) closed out the final inning and a third striking out two batters and walking one.

Junior championship at 5 p.m.: #1 Pierce (North Division) vs. #3 Arlington (South Division)

Senior championship at 7:30 p.m.: #3 Pierce (North Division winner) vs. #2 Pender (South Division winner)
