Post 43 Seniors Drop Back-To-Back During Bennington Invite, Finish 20-3

BENNINGTON – Members of the Post 43 Senior American Legion baseball team closed out North Division 2 play during the 2020 Bennington Invite Friday.

Wayne took on Concordia Friday afternoon before closing out with Blair later in the day.

Post 43 ended their season with a 20-3 record following a 7-6 walk-off loss in the seventh to Concordia while Blair won 9-3 in the final game.

In the game against Concordia, Brock Hopkins singled twice while Blake Bartos singled and scored for Wayne. Jacob Kneifl singled; Trevor DeBoer scored twice as Hagan Miller, Max Miller and Reid Korth all scored.

Wayne used three pitchers in the loss. Tyrus Eischeid started two and a third allowing two hits while striking out and walking two batters each; Korth worked an inning and a third allowing four hits while striking out one and walking three as Hagan Miller pitched two and a third allowing two hits while striking out one batter.

During the outing with Blair, Jacob Kneifl and Bartos both singled and scored while Gunnar Jorgensen singled for Wayne. Hopkins also scored.

DeBoer pitched five innings allowing 11 hits while striking out three batters and walking four as Tyler Lutt worked an inning allowing one hit while walking one batter.
