COLUMBUS – The Wayne Post 43 Juniors joined their Senior American Legion team for a road doubleheader Monday night.
Post 43 visited Columbus Lakeview as the Wayne Jrs took the early lead of 2-1 after the opening inning. Columbus Lakeview then added a run in the third inning before scoring six runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to win 10-2. Wayne Post 43 fell to 1-1 on the season.
Brooks Kneifl recorded a single, double and RBI while Max Miller singled and drove in a run. James Dorcey and Toby Braun both singled and scored.
Kneifl opened the first three innings allowing two runs (one earned) off four hits while striking out six batters and walking one. Braun closed out the final two and a third innings allowing eight runs (five earned) off six hits while walking three batters.
The Wayne Post 43 Juniors will next join their Senior Legion team on Wednesday hosting Pierce at 5:30/8 p.m.
