Ponca Splits Road Triangular

PIERCE – The Ponca volleyball team took to the road for a pair of matches after hosting a triangular earlier in the week.

From Pierce high school, Ponca also took on Dakota Valley, South Dakota Thursday.

In the triangular, Ponca topped Piece (25-23, 25-18) before falling to Dakota Valley (21-25, 21-25). The Indians are now 16-4 on the season.

During the sweep over the Bluejays, Josie Reid posted seven kills, five digs and three service aces while Alyssa Crosgrove (four digs) and Gracen Evans (three digs) had six kills. Kaci Day recorded five kills and six digs as Meg Keller added eight digs. Morgan Nelson also had eight digs to go along with 20 set assists.

From the loss to DV, Reid came away with 10 kills and seven digs while Crosgrove finished with 12 digs and two kills for Ponca. Nelson tacked on another eight digs and 20 set assists.

Ponca will next host Wakefield-Allen on Tuesday, October 8.
