WAKEFIELD – Five varsity and five junior varsity boys golf teams took part in the Wakefield Invitational Friday.
From the Logan Valley Golf Course, Ponca won the invite by two strokes over Osmond (344-346). Laurel-Concord-Coleridge placed third shooting a 357, followed by Wakefield in fourth with a 378 as Wayne JV rounded out the top five teams with a 408.
Other team scores came from Ponca JV (sixth – 427), Wakefield JV (seventh – 459), Osmond JV (eighth – 1338 with three golfers), Pender (ninth – 1401 with three golfers) and LCC JV (10th – 1429 with three golfers).
Individually Alex Kumm of Osmond shot the low score on the 18-hole course of a 75. Ponca teammates Cole Richards (82) and Evan Anderson (84) both followed in second and third respectively.
The top Wayne JV golfer was Jonah Brodersen tying for fourth with an 85. Other Blue Devil golfers saw Ryan Jaixen (100), Beau Bowers (105), Matt Navrkal (118) and Colton Vovos (124).
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was led by Izac Reifenrath with an 86 to finish sixth while Ty Erwin and Noah Schutte each shot an 88 to tie for seventh.
Wakefield’s top performer was Noah Lamprecht tying for 12th with a 90, Tay Guill shot a 91 to finish 14th and Parker Lehmkuhl tied for 18th with a 97. Other Wakefield varsity golfers were Julio Sanchez (100) and Blake Brown (102).
Pender Varsity results:
Jaxon Mrsny (110); Charles Schmedding (140) and Jonathan Schmedding (151).
Other Ponca Varsity golfers:
Jay Brockhaus and Casey Brentlinger tied for ninth with an 89 while Logan Kingsbury tied for 12th with a 90.
Other LCC Varsity golfers:
Logan Hansen (95) and Karsen Klooz (106).
