Oakland Sweeps Games With Dirt Devil 10s, 12s

OAKLAND – The Dirt Devil 10s and 12s took to the road Thursday evening to Oakland.

From the 12 & Under contest, both teams tabbed a run in the first inning before Oakland outscored Wayne 2-1 in the second. The Dirt Devil 12s answered with their own 2-1 third inning to tie the game at 4-4. But, Oakland brought in one run during the fourth to win 5-4. The Dirt Devil 12s fall to 1-5.

Jersi Jensen paced the Dirt Devil 12s with a double and two RBI as Delaney Kruse singled and drove in a run. Rylin Hall and Liberty Titiml both singled.

Pitching came from Delaney Kruse in two innings of work allowing three earned runs off of three hits while striking out three batters and walking three. Sammi Gubbels pitched an inning allowing two earned runs off of two hits while striking out one batter and walking two.

In the 10 & Under game, Oakland jumped out front with a four-run first inning and another three runs in the second inning to lead 7-0. Following a scoreless third, Oakland outscored Wayne 4-1 in the fourth to win 12-1. The Dirt Devils fall to 1-3 on the season.

Aubrey Russel produced the lone run being an inside-the-park homerun.

In the circle, Mackenzie Nissen worked three innings allowing seven runs (six earned) off of five hits while striking out eight batters and walking two. Charli Sievers pitched a third of an inning allowing five runs (three earned) off of one hit while striking out one batter and walking another four.

The Dirt Devil 10s and 12s will be off this weekend before both our back in action on Tuesday, May 29. The 10 & Under team will host the Kelly’s at 6 p.m. while the 12s visiting Highway 91 at 6:30 p.m.
