SIOUX FALLS, SD – A 22-game NSIC schedule will open for Wayne State College basketball this week.
From the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the Wildcat women and men will take part in a Tuesday night road doubleheader before resuming non-conference play.
WSC will visit Augustana University at 5:30/7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22. The men’s game will be played first.
The Wayne State College women are 2-0 on the season following a 99-90 home victory on November 11 over Newman University and an 84-71 road victory at Chadron State College on November 16.
The Augustana women are 3-0 and are coming off an 85-55 home victory over Briar Cliff on November 19. The Vikings also started the season with a 62-59 win over #3 Fort Hays State and an 86-77 victory against Missouri Western State on November 11 – 12 during the Sioux Falls Tip-Off Classic played at the Stewart Center (USF gym).
Last season, the Wildcat women won 73-61 in Wayne on November 23 while Augie picked up a 74-63 win in Sioux Falls on January 2.
The Wayne State College men have won three straight since dropping a 91-78 home game to Southeastern Oklahoma State on November 11 and sit 3-1 on the season. WSC has home wins over Oklahoma Baptist (68-58) on November 12 and against York University (76-68) on November 14 while recently picking up a 77-67 road victory over Nebraska-Kearney on November 19.
The Augustana men are coming off competing in the East/West Challenge played at the Pentagon over the weekend. Augie won 82-60 over South Dakota Mines on November 11 before dropping an 82-73 game to Black Hills State on Saturday.
Last season, Wayne State won 63-59 in Wayne (November 23) as the Vikings picked up a 71-55 win in Sioux Falls (January 2).
Wayne State and Augie will meet one more time during the regular season on Saturday, December 31 in Wayne.
