NSAA Playoff Football Moves Into Quarterfinal Competition Friday

LINCOLN – Playoff football continues this Friday, November 6 with quarterfinal round competition across the state.

Area teams remaining:

Class C1: top eight teams advanced as it took a 27-24 overtime win for #6 Lincoln Christian to get past #11 Gothenburg.

In Class C1 #2 Pierce defeated #15 West Point-Beemer, 42-21 and will next host #7 Wahoo (rematch from last year’s C1 final in which Wahoo won). #9 Wayne suffered a 31-13 road loss to #8 Adams Central; #12 Battle Creek fell at #5 Auburn (37-15) and #16 Logan View/Scribner-Snyder lost at #1 Ashland-Greenwood (24-7).

Class C1 Playoffs

In Class C2: #3 Oakland-Craig topped #14 Crofton (44-14) and #11 Hartington Cedar Catholic won at #6 Bridgeport (21-0) to earn a rematch with Oakland-Craig Friday.

Another top eight team who fell saw #10 Aquinas Catholic win at #7 Norfolk Catholic, 27-10.

Class C2 Playoffs

Class D1: #5 Stanton won at #12 Arcadia-Loup City, 56-14 and will next travel to #4 Dundy County-Stratton Friday. #16 LCC suffered a 40-12 home loss to #1 Tri County and #8 Lutheran High Northeast lost to #9 Weeping Water (36-12) in Norfolk for the lone seeded-upset.

Class D1 Playoffs

In Class D2: #7 Allen lost to #10 Kenesaw (64-20) in Allen; #11 Bloomfield lost to #6 St. Mary’s 34-24 in O’Neill; #4 Wynot was upset by #13 Pleasanton (46-30) and #16 Creighton lost to #1 Falls City Sacred Heart (54-28).

Another rated-upset saw #9 Osceola defeat #8 Humphrey St. Francis (50-46).
