LINCOLN – With subdistrict and district competition coming up in mid-February, the 2021 NSAA Girls and Boys State Basketball Championships will see a change in the format.
According to a release from the Nebraska School Activities Association, 60 games will be played at the Pinnacle Bank Arena with limited games in Lincoln Public Schools over a 10-day period.
The girls state tournament will last from Tuesday, March 2 – Saturday, March 6 while the boys state tourney will follow from Tuesday, March 9 – Saturday, March 13.
Day one will be made for all of Class A and half of Class B while the other half of Class B and all of Class C1 will be at the PBA on day two. Class C2 (Girls: LSE/boys: LNE), Class D1 (girls: LSW/boys: LE) and Class D2 (girls: LNS/boys: LSE) will play their opening round games on Wednesday.
Semifinal games for Class C2, D1 and D2 will be played at the PBA on Thursday (day three).
Day four (Friday) will feature Class A, B and C1 semifinals at the Pinnacle Bank Arena along with Class C2, D1 and D2 consolation games (girls: LNE/boys: LNS).
Championship Saturday will feature the six classes at the PBA while the final consolation game for Class C1 will be played Saturday (girls: LNE/boys: LNS).
