Northeast Volleyball Has Six Named To All-Nebraska World Herald Team, Area Individuals Represented

NORFOLK – Following yet another trip to the NJCAA DII National Tournament, six members of the Northeast Community College volleyball team have earned post season accolades.

The Hawks qualified for their fourth consecutive national tournament and posted a 22-18 overall record after going 7-2 in ICCAC play. NECC won the Region XI-B Tournament in five sets over North Iowa Area Community College before going 1-2 in the NJCAA DII Volleyball National Tournament.

Individuals named to the Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska College Team were sophomore Elley Beaver (Columbus) and Josie Sanger (Crofton) earning First Team honors while Brianna Bauer (O’Neill), Hannah Heppner (Stanton), Caitlin Kumm (Osmond) and MaKayla Davidson (Alliance) were tabbed Honorable Mention.

Beaver finished her career at Northeast recording 466 kills and 729 digs, while averaging 2.18 kills per set in 59 matches.

After recently being named Second Team All-American, Sanger concluded a breakout freshman season with 829 digs in 38 matches, while breaking the all-time single season digs record.
