Northeast Nebraska Senior Golf Recap

WAYNE – A total of 22 outings made up this past year’s northeast Nebraska Senior Golf League.

According to a recap post from Darrell Miller, 21 of the dates were held under the regular format with one being a scramble.

There were also five cancelations due to bad weather (April 19, 26; May 3, 7 and July 26).

The northeast Nebraska Senior Golf League attracted 92 different men. Broken down, 39 played 1-5 times; 27 played 6-10 times; 15 played 11-15 times and 11 played 16-20 times. Bill Zeisler was the only individual to participate in all 22 outings.

Darrell Miller would like to thank all who participated and supported the league in 2022, especially those who were not members of host clubs and drove the extra distance to play.

The amount paid to each club in 2022 for golf and cart fees were $14 for each of the visiting players and $3 from each host club member.

A grand total of $8,254 (not including income from coffee, pastries and meals) was generated from the five golf courses.

Logan Valley Golf Course in Wakefield ($2,062), Twin Creeks Golf Club in Pender ($2,102) and the Hartington Golf Club ($1,580) all hosted five outings; the Wayne Country Club ($1,373) hosted four and Cedarview Country Club in Laurel ($1,137) hosted three outings.

A special thanks goes out to Bill Zeisler and his son, Jon, who continue to be in charge of the paperwork that makes the northeast Nebraska Senior Golf League run smoothly.

All ideas are welcome for improvement. Reach out to Darrell Miller, Bill Zeisler or any of the members of the clubs who assist in hosting with any suggestions.

The group will meet again in April of 2023 to set up a schedule and review prices.
