No Team Results Due To Injury Withdrawal, Bentjen Shoots 98

BEEMER – Another Wayne High fall sports team began their season late this week being the girls golf team.

From the Indian Trails Country Club in Beemer, Wayne competed in the West Point-Beemer Invitational. Due to an injury, Wayne didn’t record a team-score.

The top Blue Devil girls golfer was Natalie Bentjen shooting a 98 placing fourth. Other WHS girls golf results came from Bailee Leise (137) and Riley Haschke (141).

The host, West Point-Beemer won the invite with a 408, followed by Bennington in second with a 431 and Papillion La-Vista rounded out the top three teams with a 439. TC Thunder (fourth – 454), Oakland-Craig (fifth – 462), Papio LV JV (sixth – 481), Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (seventh – 510), Archbishop Bergan (eighth – 511), Shelby-Rising City (ninth – 514) and Arlington (553) closed out the team scoring.

Brooke Diekemper of West Point-Beemer placed first individually with a 90 on the 18-hole course. Bennington’s Claire Tompson took silver with a 95 as Edie Anderson (Oakland-Craig) also shot a 98 to place third.

The top TC Thunder golfer was Jazzmin Nolze shooting a 106 to place sixth while LCC’s top golfer placed 18th being Brianna Campbell with a 115.

The Wayne High girls golf team will be off for a week until they host their own Invitational on Friday, August 30. Tee time from the Wayne Country Club is set for 9 a.m. and joining Wayne will be Battle Creek, Crofton, Elkhorn Valley, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Oakland-Craig, Papillion-La Vista, Pender, Pierce, South Sioux City, Stanton and West Point-Beemer.
