Nebraska Football State Championship Finals Set, Location Changes For Class A – D2

LINCOLN – High School playoff football teams advance to the state finals in mid-November.

According to a release from the Nebraska Schools Activities Association, semifinal games were played Friday and there has been a change in all but six-man for their championship location.

 

Friday results:

Class A: #5 Elkhorn South defeated #9 Kearney, 10-3 while #2 Omaha Westside edged #3 Millard South, 35-33

Class B: #5 Aurora defeated #8 Plattsmouth, 21-12 while #3 Elkhorn topped #2 Hastings, 33-28

Class C1: #8 Adams Central defeated #4 Kearney Catholic, 34-29 while #2 Pierce edged #3 St. Paul, 21-14

Class C2: #1 Archbishop Bergan defeated #4 Yutan, 21-7 while #2 Ord topped #3 Oakland-Craig, 38-28

Class D1: #4 Dundy-County Stratton defeated #1 Tri County, 42-24 while #3 Burwell edged #2 Cross County, 37-36

Class D2: #5 Sandhills-Thedford defeated #1 Falls City Sacred Heart, 36-26 while #2 BDS edged #3 Central Valley, 40-36

Six-Man: #4 Sterling edged #1 Arthur County, 60-58 while #3 McCool Junction defeated #2 Cody-Kilgore, 30-12

Classes A, B, C1, C2, D1 and D2 state championship football games will be played at home sites this Friday. The higher seed will host in all classes and game times will be mutually agreed upon by the participating schools. The host schools will be required to follow the previously established NSAA Post-Season Protocols.

The Class D6 Championship Football Game will proceed as scheduled in Kearney at Cope Stadium on Friday, November 20.

 

State finals schedule:

Class A: #2 Omaha Westside will host #5 Elkhorn South

Class B: #3 Elkhorn will host #5 Aurora

Class C1: #2 Pierce will host #8 Adams Central at 5:30 p.m. Friday

Class C2: #1 Archbishop Bergan will host #2 Ord at 4 p.m. Friday from Heedum Field in Fremont

Class D1: #3 Burwell will host #4 Dundy-County Stratton

Class D2: #2 BDS will host #5 Sandhills-Thedford

Six-Man (Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. from Cope Stadium at Nebraska-Kearney): #3 McCool Junction vs. #4 Sterling
