WAYNE – With a non-conference home match slated for Tuesday, the Wayne State College volleyball team closed out a weekend home slate Saturday afternoon.
From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, T-6th WSC welcomed in MSU Moorhead.
The Wildcats took care of business on the home court with their 13th sweep (25-8, 25-20, 25-12). WSC is now 14-2 (8-1 NSIC) and won their seventh straight while the Dragons fell to 1-16 (1-8 NSIC).
A trio of Wildcats recorded double figure kills led by Maggie Brahmer with 13 kills, a dig and three blocks (one solo); Kelsie Cada added a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs as Taya Beller finished with 11 kills, two digs and a block for WSC.
Alaina Wolff paced the team in digs with 16; followed by Jordan McCormick with 12 digs; Rachel Walker posted 38 set assists four digs, a solo block and a kill; Jazlin DeHaan tacked on seven kills and three digs; Isabelle Vacek and Kalli Kroecker both had a kill. Elly Larson had three blocks; Jessie Brandl had six digs; Gabrielle Gergen totaled two digs as Lauren Jacobsen and Brooke Peltz both had a dig.
McCormick finished with three service aces as Beller followed with two aces.
WSC outhit the Dragons, .324 to .039.
T-6th Wayne State College will next host Mount Marty on Tuesday, October 12 at 6 p.m.
