BATTLE CREEK – Following play-in games this past weekend, the round of eight began Monday for Mid State Conference girls basketball teams as the boys begin their first round Tuesday evening.
With Battle Creek being this year’s final day host for Mid State Conference championship, third place and fifth place games, the school will also host winner’s bracket games while Norfolk Catholic will host loser’s bracket games.
Opening Monday, Guardian Angels Central Catholic and O’Neill hosted the first round of girls games. Second round games are scheduled for Thursday, February 4.
GACC: #1 GACC defeated #8 Wayne, 68-30 and #4 Hartington Cedar Catholic defeated #5 Pierce, 46-38
O’Neill: #2 O’Neill defeated #7 Battle Creek, 57-41 while #3 Crofton defeated #6 Norfolk Catholic, 47-31
Boys first round: Tuesday, February 2
Pierce: #1 Pierce vs. #8 GACC at 5:30 p.m. followed by #4 Norfolk Catholic vs. #5 O’Neill.
Wayne: #3 Hartington Cedar Catholic vs. #6 Battle Creek at 5:30 p.m. followed by #2 Wayne vs. #7 Boone Central.
