HASTINGS – Day two of the 2021 Senior American Legion Mid-South Region baseball tournament saw two teams get eliminated.
From Duncan Field in Hastings, round two began with a pair of elimination games.
Gretna Post 216 (NE) defeated Pittsburg Post 64 (KS), 3-0 while Washington Post 218 (MO) held off Gene Taylor’s Baseball Club (CO), 5-4.
In the winner’s bracket, the Cabot RailCats (AR) topped Oak Grove Post 379 (MO), 13-4 as Dubuque County (IA) held off the host Hastings Five Points Bank, 10-9.
Friday will again begin with two elimination games between a pair of in-state match-ups of Washington Post 218 (MO) vs. Oak Grove Post 379 (MO) at 1 p.m. followed by Gretna Post 216 (NE) vs. the host Hastings Five Points Bank at 4 p.m. The two remaining undefeated teams will compete at 7 p.m. being Cabot RailCats (AR) vs. Dubuque County (IA).
Game times for Saturday are scheduled for 4/7 p.m.

The 2021 American Legion Mid-South Regional baseball tournament championship game is scheduled for Sunday, August 8.
The ultimate goal of these participating teams is to advance to the American Legion World Series in North Carolina August 12 – 17.
