Lewis & Clark Volleyball Tourney Bracket Released

PONCA – As four different sites will be hosting pool play matches this weekend, the top four seeds will await the winners early next week during the Lewis & Clark Conference Volleyball Tournament.

According to a release from conference officials, Ponca, Hartington-Newcastle, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Emerson-Hubbard will host matches on Saturday, October 17 starting at 10 a.m. with a rolling schedule.

Ponca will face Plainview and Walthill in Pool A, HNS will compete against Wakefield and Creighton in Pool B, LCC will play Osmond and Bloomfield in Pool C while Tri-County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) will welcome in Winnebago and Homer in Pool D.

The Pool D winner will face Wynot at 5:30 p.m. followed by Pool A winner vs. Wausa on Monday, October 19 in Ponca. Matches in Laurel will feature Randolph vs. Pool C winner at 5:30 p.m. followed by Winside vs. the Pool B winner. These matches will be best two-of-three sets with game three being best two-of-three while the semifinal match will be best three-of-five sets.

Monday loser’s bracket consolation matches will be determined by directors on pairings and location with the first game starting at 5 p.m.

Moving into Tuesday, October 20, LCC will host the consolation match (best two-of-three) and Lewis & Clark Conference championship match (best three-of-five).

 

COVID Guidelines for tourney:

  • Participants are permitted to wear face coverings during competition, but not required
  • Coaches and non-active participants are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings
  • Spectators are required to wear face coverings at all times while attending indoor events
  • The host school may establish additional requirements in consultation with local health departments
