Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament Second Round Results, Finals Set

LAUREL – With the finals now set, second round games were held Tuesday evening for the 2021 Lewis and Clark Conference Basketball Tournaments on the girls side.

Again, the top eight teams qualified for the Lewis Tourney while seeds 9 – 16 were competing in the Clark bracket.

2020-21 Boys Mid State Tournament Bracket (1) 2021-LC-Conference-Tournaments

Lewis tournament: third place and fifth place games will be on Friday, February 5 from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School starting at 5:30 p.m. with the third place game followed by the fifth place game. The championship game will be played at 6 p.m. in Laurel on Monday, February 8.

Ponca (winner’s bracket): #1 Ponca defeated #4 Winnebago, 72-45 and #2 Wynot defeated #3 Wakefield, 49-24

Allen (loser’s bracket): #8 Plainview advanced past #5 Randolph who was unable to play due to COVID-19 and #7 Creighton defeated #6 Tri County Northeast, 55-47

 

Clark tournament: winner’s bracket highest seed in the first place game will host the third place game while the highest seed in the loser’s bracket fifth place game will host the seventh place game all on Friday, February 5.

Laurel (winner’s bracket): #12 Homer edged #9 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, 41-40 and #11 Hartington-Newcastle held off #10 Osmond, 43-41

Bloomfield (loser’s bracket): #13 Bloomfield defeated #16 Winside, 52-31 and #14 Wausa defeated #15 Walthill, 76-35

 

Boys second round games will be on Thursday, February 4 hosted by Walthill and Creighton for the Lewis tourney as well as Ponca and Wausa for the Clark tourney.

Lewis tourney:

Walthill (winner’s bracket): #1 Osmond vs. #5 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 6 p.m. followed by #3 Walthill vs. #7 Winnebago

Creighton (loser’s bracket): #4 Wakefield vs. #8 Bloomfield at 6 p.m. followed by #2 Creighton vs. #6 Wynot.

Clark tourney:

Ponca (winner’s bracket): #9 Ponca vs. #13 Hartington-Newcastle at 6 p.m. followed by #10 Tri County Northeast vs. #11 Homer

Wausa (loser’s bracket): #12 Wausa vs. #16 Winside at 6 p.m. followed by #14 Randolph vs. #15 Plainview
