CREIGHTON – With NSAA district golf competition two weeks out, a boys conference golf outing opened the week battling the windy conditions Monday.
From Creighton Community Golf Course, 13 teams were represented during the Lewis & Clark Conference Meet.
Creighton was crowned conference champions on their home course with a 364 while Tri County Northeast edged Ponca for second (381-390). Hartington-Newcastle took fourth with a 416 and Plainview rounded out the top five teams with a 425.
Other team results went to Wausa (sixth – 426), Randolph (seventh – 455), Homer (eighth – 510) and Bloomfield (ninth – 523). Wakefield, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Osmond and Winnebago also had golfers in action.
Creighton teammates finished one and two as Braxton Brockhaus shot the 18-low, 73 to be crowned conference champion followed by Gage Burns with an 80 in second. Nate Oswald of Tri County Northeast shot an 83 to place third.
Wakefield’s top golfers were Zach Boeshart who shot a 98 to place 10th as Johnathon Birkley finished with a 103. Kolton Fischer also shot a 127.
LCC results came from Evan Schmidt with a 102 to round out the top 15 golfers, Aidan Junck with a 106 and Jackson Hall with a 113.
The Wakefield boys golf program will next host an invite from Logan Valley Golf Course on Friday, May 7 starting at 9 a.m. Participating teams include Hartington/Newcastle, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Osmond, Pender, Ponca, Tri County Northeast, Winnebago and Wayne JV.
