Lewis & Clark All-Conference, Honorable Mention Volleyball Teams Posted

ALLEN – A northeast Nebraska conference which features 17 teams met earlier this week and held their All-Conference volleyball meeting.

From Allen high school Monday, the three divisions of the Lewis & Clark Conference released their All-Conference and honorable mention volleyball athletes.

Wynot won the Lewis & Clark Conference Tourney with wins in five-sets over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, swept Wakefield-Allen (two sets) and swept Ponca (three sets). The Blue Devils placed fourth in the Class D2 State Tourney and finished the season 25-5 as the number two seed falling to #1 Lawrence-Nelson (23-25, 18-25, 20-25) in the consolation round. Wynot qualified for state by defeating #15 Mullen in the D2-2 District Final in four sets.

Other Lewis & Clark volleyball teams who fell one match shy of qualifying for state were Ponca falling in the C2-5 District Final to #12 Arcadia/Loups City (3-0), Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost to #4 Archbishop Bergan (3-0) in the D1-4 District Final and Winside ended their season in the D2-6 District Final by losing to #6 Bertrand (3-0).

Wakefield-Allen and Ponca both had three All-Conference East Division representatives while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge added two individuals.

In the Central Division, Winside landed three All-Conference players as the division was led by four from Wynot.

The West Division was led by two individuals each from Plainview, Randolph, Osmond and Bloomfield.
