LAUREL – Following a home sweep Friday night, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge basketball teams were back on their home court for a Saturday showdown.
From LCC Schools, the Bears welcomed in Randolph.
In the girls game, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge defeated Randolph, 32-23 while the LCC boys won 79-29 over Randolph.
During the girls contest, the Bears used a 13-3 first quarter before Randolph cut into the deficit with an 8-5 second. LCC led 18-11 at the break. Both teams were then even in the second half scoring seven points in the third and six more points in the fourth. Final again favored LCC 32-23 who won back-to-back on the weekend improving to 2-2 while Randolph fell to 1-2
Junior Kinsey Hall paced LCC in scoring with 17 points while sophomore Haley Christensen added eight points. Junior Jordynn Urwiler tallied three points as sophomore Mollie Schutte and freshman Mallory Eriksen both scored two points.
LCC shot 8-17 from the foul line.
Senior Gracie Eledge fouled out with a team-high eight points for the Cardinals while senior Jaiden Taylor tacked on seven points. Senior Natalie Munter also fouled out with four points as senior Keely Pinkelman and junior Ariel Fye both added two points.
The Cardinals finished 3-9 from the foul line.

From the boys game, early on it was close with LCC ahead 17-12 after the first quarter. But the second quarter favored the Bears with a 36-0 run to take a 53-12 lead at half. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge also outscored the Cardinals 21-5 in the third before the Cardinals won the fourth, 12-5. The entire second half was a running clock (40-point lead) as LCC won 79-29 to improve to 4-0 while the Cardinals fell to 0-3.
LCC used 12 different scorers on the night with senior Cael Hartung posting a team-high 20 points while junior Evan Schmitt added 12 points. Junior Lucas Rasmussen tallied nine points, junior Evan Haisch had eight points, senior Austin Hall scored six points, junior Wilton Roberts, junior Markus Martin and freshman Carter Kvols all scored four points while juniors Grant Erwin, Dillon Olson, Trevin Boysen and Deagan Puppe all had three points.
The Bears shot 13-17 from the foul line.
Senior Justin Haselhorst paced Randolph in scoring with 14 points while junior Tom Korth finished with six points. Senior Tristan Mosel scored three points while two points each came from senior Tyson Junck, freshman Brayden Shearer and senior Sam Korth.
Randolph finished 3-7 from the foul line.
