Kuchar Chiropractic Star Athlete Of The Week Awarded To Zavala

WAYNE – After winning two individual distance events and running a leg on a runner-up relay team earlier this week, Jesus Zavala was named this week’s Kuchar Chiropractic Star Athlete of the week.

According to a release from head Wayne High track and field coach Dale Hochstein, Jesus Zavala is a member of the Wayne High boys track & field team.

During the Second annual Columbus Scotus Puetz Memorial on Tuesday, Zavala won the 1600-meter run in 5:00.3 and the 3200-meter run in 10:59.00, which was 52 seconds ahead of second place. Zavala also ran Wayne’s fastest split on the 3200-meter relay, which placed second in a time of 9:14.62 (Zavala, Colson Nelson, Mason Ley and Ethan Wibben).

So far this season, Zavala has not lost an open race. He also competed in the 3200-meter run at the Wayne State Indoor Meet and was part of the 3200-meter relay team on March 19.
