PAPILLION – Several members of the Wayne Junior High cross country program laced up the shoes one more time during a weekend state competition.
From Walnut Creek hosted by Papillion-LaVista South High School, the Junior High State Cross Country Championships were held on October 8.
The lone Blue Devil girls eighth-grade competitor was Essynce Owens-Webb who earned an 11th place medal in a time of 12:52.12 during the Junior High Girls 3K Open Division.

The Wayne Junior High boys placed 18th in the team standings with 475 points.
Eighth-grader Cole Zach posted a 36th place finish in a time of 11:14.79 in the Junior High Boys 3K Championship Division.
Other results came from eighth-grader Emmanuel Gonzalez (79th – 11:49.27); eighth-grader Alejandro Archundia (104th – 12:13.28); seventh grader Grady Maas (189th – 12:58.12); eighth-grader Landen Claussen (221st – 13:24.11) and eighth-grader Lance Brink (227th – 13:27.74).
